Kampala September 2011

During September 2011, 59 students from around Uganda, descended on Kampala for the next phase of their AFMIN ON10 training. Three graduates of the same course, John Kasiita, Joshua Morefu and Rodgers Sserwaddi presented the lectures and ran the 4 day school. It was such a blessing to see young men who have grown in their knowledge, now teaching others. This forms part of the ON10 vision of AFMIN.

Uganda, the land of order. I will never forget the first time I set my feet on the ground at Entebbe Airport, in September 2007. While standing in the queue, waiting for my visa, my whole body was covered in goose-flesh! I experienced a sense of “spiritual order”. There was something different about this country!

It was already dark when we arrived in Kampala. There were informal shops all along the streets. Later I would learn about the work ethics of the people. It is not unusual to find builders working under lights, even at 9pm. And it even appears that they are enjoying their work!

One thing that we have had to become accustomed to, wherever we stay, is the loud music which keeps one awake at night!. And this is not just any music, it is church music with singers filling the air with continuous sounds of joy and excitement.
